saving private spielberg

is aiting at this exact time,
and one can clearly see and notice Spielbergs
anti-european attitude in it quite well,
anyhow i like the first 25 minutes of it,
that depiction of the troops debarking onto
the beaches has been hailed by veterans
as the most realistic warscene ever portraid
in a film. And i do not doubt it for a second.
The thing that i remember the most of it
is the sound of the german MG42 machinegun,
our Swedish KSP58 MG (MG=machinegun,
Maskingevär in Swedish and Maschinegewehr
in german) has almost the identical sound,
only WAY louder in real !! ;)

But despite Spielbergs antieuropean
attitudei still loved the series
"Band of brothers",
especially the episode "The breaking point"
(episode 7), at least i THINK that was the one
im thinking of, when they get trapped in the
snowy parts of Bastogne, that scene with
all those bombs droppin on their positions
is very well made

Had I been 10 years younger
I would have applied to this

Hmmmm as I know,
the oldest volunteer for the
French Foreign Legion was 44 ....
But running around with the FAMAS
isnt a compelling prospect hmm..
