First up, he isnt and never has been ROCK, anyone
vaugely familiar with music can tell you that, if hes
ROCK well then Ramones is heavy metal, Rammstein is
synthpop and Blondie is classical music,
and secondly, ART? HOW is Gary Numan art????
I can tell you what he is, hes a dude that made a LOT
of records, but despite that one couldnt fill up even ONE
whole cd of a "best of" compilation (and hes released like
12 different best of albums) and yeah i realise thats a subjective
perspective, but i find him a slight pathetic ex-wannabe,
i read on one of those Best ofs that "phase one is concluded",
what "phase one" would that be then? He had 1 or 2 semihits
back in 1979 to 1980, since then noone cared about him despite
him releasing album after album (which noone cared about at all)
which sounded exactly like the stuff he did back in 1979-1980,
no progress at all, just desperately trying to recapture past glory,
and now hes back again, yet again trying to make it big,
haha how LAME is that??!? Ive heard his new stuff, sounds
exactly like that stuff from 1979, still same gayass singing,
same monotone crap, same crap songs, in gary numans world
its still 1980, im amased that the record company STILL
thinks he can have another hit, after all of this time ....
